Okay, I lied. HAHAHAHA.

I actually have ONE more big event that occurred recently. I had the opportunity to visit Tokyo and catch up with people there as well as meet Nate for the first time in….well, it feels like forever.

So, it was a ‘long’ trip for me. 4 days, 3 nights. It’s not too long, but I had to be back to begin doing my research and Nate was only there for certain days. My hands were tied. >.<

Anyway, the first day, I left for Tokyo midday and had no plans. So, me being the brilliant person I am, looked up places to go as I was leaving to catch the plane. Needless to say, I ended up changing all those plans as I soon realized that it was raining and freezing cold. Hahaha. Should have been so much more smart about that planning…
I got to visit the Shibuya district and see the Scramble course (the place that has sooooo many people crossing at one time). It really is amazing that even in the rain, there were probably more people crossing the road than I see on a daily basis back here in Okinawa. After this, I walked to Harajuku and attempted to do some shopping. Didn’t go so well as I found out I had barely enough money to get through the day. DUMB. So, from Harajuku, I caught one of the trains (there’s so many) and ended finding my way to Tokyo Dome. Nothing was happening there but at least I can say that I’ve been there now!

The next day, I got to meet up with Nate, his girlfriend, and two other friends. First we went exploring odaiba journeying to find the giant Gundam that was supposed to be there. Ended up taking about 1 hour of walking to actually find it. We also got to visit Fuji TV and see Skytree.

After this, we went to Akiba which, if you didn’t know, is the REALLY big electronics district in Tokyo. You can say we were there to buy electronics, which we were, but we also went to do that one thing everyone needs to do, experience a Maid Café. It’s quite an experience and the one that we went to was rabbit themed. We can’t take pictures inside unless we have one of the ‘maids’ with us so I only have pictures of the food. But, it was very cute.

Then we went to Karaoke and sang for a couple of hours and followed this up with Yakiniku! Overall, an awesome day. And, we cut things so close that we were all catching the last trains back home.

The third day started off with Omiyage shopping around Tokyo station. Around the station, there were probably more stores than in some shopping malls that I’ve been to. It’s truly amazing.
Following this, I got to meet up with Kaoru who I first met about 5 years ago when I visited Tokyo for the first time. We did the touristy thing and went all around Tokyo as she also hadn’t been to Tokyo proper in a long time. She lives out in Chiba which is the neighboring prefecture. I think pictures can tell the story of this day. And, to finish off the day, we went to a really nice restaurant to catch up on times. (^^

My final day I got to meet up with Emiri and Mika! We went to a shopping center but spent most of the time just sitting in cafes or eating and talking story.
Ironically, that exact day, they happened to be having an Okinawa exhibition.

I also thought it would be cool to chronicle the temperature while I was in Tokyo.

Well, that was my trip to Tokyo. And, that will also be all for my blog updates for today. (Really this time :p)

Much aloha to you all have hope the new year is going well for you all!

今まで, Until now

And now, the final installment of my blog updates! I’m going to cover all the events up to now.

Well, first off, 琉球ストンプ is still continuing to grow strong and gain (some) momentum. Orientation for new members begins next week Wednesday so that should be fun!

After, I’ve been going to many different events around Okinawa. The friends that I made from WYUA are spread out all through the community and participating with many different events. It has been so much fun to be traveling around like this.

Also, I’ve participated in two different walks (てだこウオーク, 20km, and環金武湾ウォーキングフェスタ, 15km). These two walks let me experience walking around areas that I usually just drive past. Very interesting and fun. Also, we got to go into the base for one of the walks and my friend got to eat Burger King!

There were also many drives that occurred. Don’t remember where they were all too but here are pictures of one of them.

Also, had to say goodbye…well, see you later, to some people.

And what better way than to go drinking! LOL.

However, this included the seniors that were graduating out of our lab. The lab got really sad after they all left, but luckily the new seniors have entered the lab and they seem to be a friendly bunch!

Well, hope you guys like this! I put waaaaaaaaay too much effort typing this. I should have just been updating constantly like I wanted to. Would have saved so much time!

Anyways, until next time, Aloha!
