花見 Flower viewing

OMG?? Wait, I'm updating my blog and its only been....oh right -_- Well, at least I'm updating it sort of regularly, more than I can say about my Japanese blog which seems to be forgotten a lot of times :( (日本語のブログ) Well, its Friday today and I'm feeling so much more rested than I did throughout the whole week! Because, school was closed for today!! Something about entrance exams or something...whatever, its a DAY OFF which, between you and me, doesn't seem to happen very often. Let's see, my new record for the past few weeks is staying in my lab until 1 IN THE MORNING to finish my experiment. Really have to love research to put up with it...MUST...LOVE...RESEARCH...argh...LOL.

Well, as I said in the previous edition of this blog, I did get to go look at the sakura that were blooming. The sakura here in Okinawa are (I think at least...) the same as those that we have back in the islands. They are, as always, a sight to behold with their wide range of....2 colors? LOL. But, they are beautiful nonetheless. I, of course, met up with Yuko-chan again and we went to a park near to 国際通り. This was about two weeks ago...so yeah, I lied and didn't update right after like I was going to try and do. I don't remember the name of the park but the previous week there was a big 祭り (event) there to celebrate the 'end of winter' or something like that. And, of course, we were there the week after it...so not much of anything was there as far as the 祭り was concerned. We did get to walk around and get some pretty nice pictures and, as has become a tradition, we went to karaoke for 2 hours.

Let's see, the 22nd, went to the ocean and ran a pilot of my experiment. the low tide was from about 1600 so I was there from about 2 til 5 to get through the whole thing. After, had to come back to the lab and analyze the data and run tests. The data actually came out surprisingly well but...I was in the lab until 1/1:30 in the morning. :( Well, sacrifice for what you love doing?? IDK.

Hm, and finally we arrive at yesterday! I went with Tanaka-san to おきなわワールド and into the cave system there (FOR FREE!!). It was an amazing experience because its been FOREVER since I was down in a cave. One of the downsides, it was so well lighted and the walkway so well established that it kind of takes the 'cave' experience out of it (in my opinion). Oh yeah, there was that actually having to run the experiment while we were there also...but that wasn't as bad as what it would seem like.

Well, its now officially spring vacation here in 流大 which means absolutely nothing for me. Still have to go in to my office everyday like before and still run my experiment like normal. The only difference is that there is now next to NO ONE on campus since...no more class. Kind of sad being one of the few people having to be in school for the vacation. Oh well, gotta just keep on at it for that degree! :D

Not sure if anythings going to happen the next few weeks since most people went traveling and such so we'll see when I next write here...maybe next month? Maybe in a couple of weeks? We'll never know...LOL

Aloha guys~! ☆彡♬♪

実験 Experiment

So, my last post was Jan. 15th. Its now Feb. 5th. You can do the math, its been a while!! 久しぶり!!☃
Okay, hold on a little bit. Let me check my calender a little bit. Yeah, I thought so, everything between Jan. 15th and now is pretty much school related. T_T So yeah, that's pretty much been my life the past few weeks, going to my research room and preparing for my research to start as well as helping with my part time which is, as of late, becoming increasingly annoying because of this and that. Oh well, just got to work through it all yeah? LOL.

Enough with the boring stuff. While I didn't really do that many things that are fun/noteworthy, I wasn't completely cut off from society! So, I'll just spend a little time talking about them. :D

First off, Friday, Jan. 28th there was a スピーチ大会 which was basically the exchange students giving speeches (in Japanese of course) and they were graded and it was sort of like a competition. I didn't say anything but I did go to watch it. There were some very awesome speeches. I also participated in the events during the judging (ie, providing entertainment while everyone waited). Lets just say...getting drinks after would likely have been a good thing. HAHAHA. Also sang 'Hawai`i Aloha' as a last minute thing (especially to me...found out that morning!!). But, it was all in good fun.

Lets see, in Japan one usually sees the sakura around April. In Okinawa, we start to see it right about now!! So, all around campus they are blooming and its quite a site to see! And yes, before you ask, that yellow bike is all mine :D

Also, I hear that its the Lunar New Year (a few days ago at least). Well, we were sort of killing time in our research room. LOL.

Well, that's all for this edition. Don't expect updates too soon, starting to be super busy at the lab (not returning home til after 9 a lot of times). I'll be trying to update if there's something interesting that happens (like...花見!!!).

Until next time, Aloha!~☆彡♬♪
